GIVING CHRISTMAS FOOD TO THE VERY POOR AT "DUSTBIN ESTATE"

It's Christmas season, and we should share our love for good food with those less privileged than we are.Below is the very inspiring story of an organisation making sure some people have a good Christmas this season.

Giving Christmas Food to the very Poor AT Dustbin Estate

In 2011, LOTS charity foundation started a food drive  themed "Christmas For Every Family" in "DUSTBIN ESTATE". This was generated to ensure that at least 100 families of the families that live on the refuse dump called DUSTBIN ESTATE have "MERRY" in the Christmas without the worries of what to eat during the festive end of year season. This food drive has been held yearly on the 24th of December of each year since 2011. Each year LOTS give each family 1] one bag of rice

 2] half bag of garri

 3] one life chicken

 4] one litre of vegetable oil 

 5] 12 plastic/canned soft drinks

 6] one pack of salt and knorrs' cubes

 7] other seasoning;curry,thyme,ginger, garlic etc. 2011

 With the help of 50 private individuals, benevolent department of HICC church and few companies, they were able to cater to over 80 families.They raised cash of 1,320,100 naira and over 2,000,000 naira worth in food stuff. In 2012, Sahara energy group and many individuals provided through their hard earned funds and food stuffs. They were able to cater to more than 100 families and we gave 163 registered children hampers not counting what was given to dedicated volunteers and community leaders. In 2013, LOTS Charity expanded, and the number of families reached increased to 128 families. With the help of Unilever Nigeria, Sahara energy ltd, Quest advisory ltd and over 30 individuals made this possible. They were also able to have a week long celebration of life for the children of "DUSTBIN ESTATE" organized daily by different companies and individual. In 2014,The same food items were given to 150 families.

 This year 2015, they intend to reach 150 families and  cannot do this without you the individuals, group of people, company or/ and religious organization. They are out to raise in cash Donations.With this, LOTS has been putting smiles on the faces of people living on the refuse dump we call DUSTBIN ESTATE.
